LUCKY’S LADY by Tami Hoag

Tami Hoag’s books are difficult to classify, but I love them.
They offer a perfect combination for the chick lit and mystery lover (me): romance and suspense. Lucky’s Lady was Hoag’s first romantic suspense book–she started out by writing romance novels.
A wise librarian once told me that you can learn a lot about culture by reading popular fiction, and that’s true with Hoag’s novels. This book allows the reader to fall into Louisiana’s Cajun swamp country and even has a glossary of phrases in the back. Another plus–great, steamy sex scenes written for women!
This book isn’t as dark as Hoag’s later works, but it works anyway.
