Hire, train, supervise, evaluate public services, claims, and monographic ordering staff. Assign priorities, suggest process improvements, and manage large volume of work. Solve problems requiring consultation with vendors and/or staff in multiple departments. Test new versions of software and provide training for all staff. Select vendors, evaluate services provided, negotiate discounts, and manage license agreements. Work to increase services to public.

Orders Unit Manager, Monographic Acquisitions, University of Iowa Libraries, December 1995-2004.
Supervise monographic order services unit processing 22,000+ orders annually, and Central Technical Services’ public service desk. Solve problems relating to unfilled or cancelled orders, lost or replacement materials.
